What is this?
The Hours Calculator measures the elapsed time between a start time and an end time within a single day, returning the result in hours and minutes plus total minutes and seconds. It is built for shift planning, timesheets, payroll, cooking schedules, parking durations, and any situation where you need to know how many hours worked or how long something lasts between two clock times.
Enter both times using the 24-hour pickers, for example 09:15 and 17:45, and the tool converts each to minutes past midnight before subtracting. If the end time is earlier than the start time, the calculator assumes the period crosses midnight into the next day, so 22:00 to 06:30 correctly yields 8 hours 30 minutes rather than a negative value.
The total-minutes figure is the number most payroll and billing systems want, and the seconds total helps when timing shorter events. Note that the tool measures a single continuous duration; to total a full week of varying shifts, calculate each day separately and add the minute totals.
Like every Calcodo tool, the arithmetic happens entirely on your device, so work schedules you enter are never transmitted anywhere.

Formula
Duration = (End Hours x 60 + End Minutes) - (Start Hours x 60 + Start Minutes)
If negative, add 1,440 minutes (24 hours).
If negative, add 1,440 minutes (24 hours).
