The Area Converter switches values between square metres, square feet, square kilometres, square miles, acres, and hectares. Property listings, land records, flooring estimates, and agricultural planning all mix these units, and a wrong factor by even 10 percent changes prices by thousands.

The conversion runs through square metres: your input is converted to sq m and then to the target unit. Key anchors: 1 square foot is 0.092903 sq m, so 1 sq m is about 10.764 sq ft; 1 acre is 4,046.86 sq m (43,560 sq ft); 1 hectare is 10,000 sq m (2.471 acres); and 1 square mile is 2.59 million sq m (640 acres).

Watch the classic trap: converting lengths does not convert areas. A 10 percent longer side produces a 21 percent larger area, and 1 metre is 3.28 feet but 1 sq m is 10.76 sq ft, not 3.28. Always convert areas with area factors, as this tool does. For irregular plots measured in regional units, convert side lengths here first, then compute the area.
