What is this?
The Scientific Calculator evaluates a full mathematical expression in one line, supporting trigonometry, logarithms, roots, powers, and constants. Type an expression such as sin(45) + log(100) or 2^8 * sqrt(144) and press Calculate to see the value to ten decimal places.
Supported functions: sin, cos, and tan take degrees, matching how angles are usually written on paper; sqrt for square roots; log for base-10 logarithms; ln for natural logarithms; abs for absolute value; and the constants pi and e. The caret symbol raises a number to a power, so 5^3 means 5 cubed. Standard operators +, -, *, and / follow normal mathematical precedence, and parentheses group sub-expressions.
A worked example: to evaluate the height of a ramp that rises at 30 degrees over a 4 metre run, enter 4 * tan(30). To convert a Richter-scale difference, use 10^(1.5). Compound expressions combine freely, for example sqrt(3^2 + 4^2) returns 5, the Pythagorean check.
If the expression is malformed, the tool reports an error with reminder examples instead of a wrong number. For privacy and speed the evaluation happens entirely in your browser; nothing you type is uploaded.
