What is this?
The Random Number Generator produces one or many random integers within any range you set, with an optional unique-only mode. It replaces dice, lottery drums, raffle tickets, and the spreadsheet formula people half-remember, for fair draws and sampling.
Set the minimum and maximum (both inclusive - rolling 1 to 6 can return either 1 or 6), choose how many numbers you need, and press Calculate. In normal mode each draw is independent, so repeats are allowed, which is exactly what dice simulate. Unique mode removes each number from the pool after it is drawn - the right choice for raffle winners, bingo calls, seat assignment, and quiz order, where repeats would be unfair. The tool refuses impossible requests, such as asking for 50 unique numbers from a 10-number range.
Randomness quality matters for anything with stakes. This tool uses your browser cryptographic random number generator, which is designed to be unpredictable, rather than the weaker pseudo-random source most casual scripts use. It is easily strong enough for draws and games; regulated lotteries and cryptographic keys have their own certified processes.
Like all Calcodo tools, generation happens entirely on your device - no server sees your range or results.
